Trustees

The Gate is a registered charity and so is ultimately managed by a board of volunteer trustees. They meet regularly through the year. The board includes:

Paul Francis (chairman) who trained as a Civil Engineer and worked for a couple of years on building projects before changing professions and becoming a youth worker.  For the past 15 years he has been involved as a leader of a growing church in Cardiff as well a Director of the charity Going Public. The church is based on a desire to serve the local community and Paul helped to start The Speakeasy Advice Centre, a project staffed by 5 full-time solicitors who give free legal advice to people in financial crisis situations. In his free time Paul loves sport, especially rugby, reading, art and music. He believes that the arts have an important value in society.

Robert Parsons who  is a bestselling author and international speaker. He has combined a successful career as a senior partner in a law firm with a leading role in a number of other ventures. These include co-founding ‘Letsdolife’, a consultancy and seminar provider to the corporate sector focusing on the area of personal and corporate effectiveness and, in 1988, launching ‘Care for the Family’, which is now one of the UK’s leading family-issues charities.
