Science Cafe is no longer happening, they will be taking a break for a while, to find out when they are back you can sign up to the mailing list online.
Held on the first tuesday of the month Science Café provides a place where anyone can come to explore the latest topical ideas in science and technology in a relaxed and friendly environment.
These evenings feature presentations from leading speakers from diverse areas within Science and take place in The Gate Café Bar.

Should Cows Drink Beer? James Blaxland – Cardiff University
Beer was considered safer to drink than water in the 18th Century thanks to the antimicrobial properties of hops. Recently hops have been shown to have antimicrobial compounds which can inhibit bacteria that spoil beer as well as that which causes TB. While treatment for TB is available the emergence of drug resistance strains is increasing the need for new and antibacterial agents: could hops be on possibility?
