Science Café

Held on the first tuesday of the month Science Café provides a place where anyone can come to explore the latest topical ideas in science and technology in a relaxed and friendly environment.

These evenings feature presentations from leading speakers from diverse areas within Science and take place in The Gate Café Bar.

Science Cafe - How flies make sperm, and why you should care

Speaker: Dr Helen White-Cooper, School of Biosciences, Cardiff University

Some insects are major agricultural pests while others transmit human, animal and plant diseases. Now there is a new strategy for species specific insect pest control, and research into how flies make sperm is helping in development of this technology.
