TheoCaf: Origins – A Literary View
Paul will continue the series on Origins in the May Cafe, taking a literary view of the subject. The Bible commences with a piece of ‘exalted’ or ‘poetic prose’ with a form of writing that is unknown today and would challenge the literary skills of even modern authors. Once one sees the literary design, one realises that the author was using Hebrew parallelism to set out the origins of our world, as one sees it before our very eyes. The text about origins seems to match the observed universe as ‘above, below and between’.
Paul will give a short introduction, and then you will be able to examine the literary form with your Cafe group. Towards the end, groups will be encouraged to share their insights, so that everyone has their say and so key ideas are drawn out.
Come along with a bunch of friends to the Gate Arts Centre Cafe Bar, grab a drink, and join in the conversation.
