Personal Information

When browsing our website information is gathered using cookies. This means if you have visited our website before your PC will check to see what information it already has stored and record information such as which links you click on to provide a better customer experience.

The Gate never uses cookies to retrieve information from your computer that was not originally sent in a cookie and we do not use information transferred through cookies for any promotional or marketing purposes, nor is that information shared with any third parties.

If you choose to purchase tickets via our website you will be asked for your contact telephone number, email address and postal address. This information will be used to send you a transaction receipt and to contact you regarding your booking. (event cancellation, change of time)

If you choose to sign up to our mailing list you may be contacted by The Gate via email to inform you of upcoming events you have indicated you would like to hear about. It will be made clear at the point we take your information as to how we contact you and how you can amend or cease the use of your contact details.

We do not forward our database on to outside companies involved in marketing. The Gate may contact you regarding future events we have coming up that we think you might be interested in. The Gate will use ‘legitimate interest’ definition under GDPR to do this.

This means The Gate may get in touch infrequently regarding events that you have shown interest in by attending and therefore there is a legitimate interest for you and for The Gate to correspond. At the time of getting in touch we will make it clear for you to let us know if you don’t want to receive any further contact from us.

By making an online transaction with us you give us permission to provide your financial and contact information to certain third parties such as credit card companies, where strictly necessary to complete your transaction with us.

If you would like to check or revise the information you provide to us at any time or would like to be removed from our database, please contact our box office via email info@thegate.org.uk or telephone (029) 20483344.
